Your search for a DD is following the same path I took in 2005. It began with a WRX, and thought, like you; too boy racer... Then the direction shifted to the Legacy and Outback. Then I had a friend with an FX35, but it cost too much. Next an allroad, but it also was too pricey (circa 2004). Finally I test drove the 325xit, and the choice was a no brainer. The fit and finish, quality of the overall car was so much better than the Legacy. If you are looking for a ski car, or something to knock around country roads in the winter, then a Subie is fine. But if you want something to use every day, and look nice, and have a quality feel about it... check out the BMW. I think you'll come to the same conclusion as I did. gordo
