Message	polishing the intake like that will actually have a negative effect... think of a golf ball. It goes further, quicker due to the dimples on the cover. Plus you could have the effect of the fuel not atomizing due to lack of turbulence. I'm by far not an expert in this area, but I have build a few high horsepower engines in my day. I'm sure other people will chime in and I have my fireproof underwear on :)
