The 350Z is a more pure Z car than the 300ZX... hence the X on the latter and not the former. The S30 chassis was a lightweight, nimble, and not overly powerful sports car... once they got close to the 80's, Datsun started stepping away from that, and the bloodline suffered. The 300ZX is a GT car... the 240Z and 350Z are true sports cars. (Note that this is why Nissan released the 240SX/Silvia... they realized that the Z32 wasn't the cheap rwd sportscar that the Z was intended to be, so they had to release another car to fill that void.) With that said, I still think the 300ZX is a far superior car... it's just a different breed than what the Z was really meant to be. And oh yeah, the Z31 is BY FAR the ugliest Z car, in general. LOL
