Message 1) a minimum of 2 3/8" bolts (not j-hooks) connecting the batteries through the frame
2) a sealed, vented container of at least .6mm thick steel or .8mm thick aluminum, or FIA certified plastic box.
3) a push/pull type cutoff switch installed on the rearmost part of the vehicle.

Most of the HPDEs around here with tech inspections (including SCCA events) use the NHRA rules regarding battery relocation.

Relevant rules are 8.1 and 8.4.

I relocated the battery in my 240Z, using a Taylor kit and a bunch of Russell cushioned clamps. Given the choice between a $200 kit that legally relocates the battery and a $700 replacement battery tray from Nissan, I didn't really have much of a choice. I wouldn't relocate the battery in my Z32, though, as I don't have a rusty battery tray to worry about.

Your powers are useless! I'm wearing my tinfoil underwear!

I will not shop at AMS.
AMS steals designs from hardworking Z32 enthusiasts and screws them out of work in a tough economy. I am boycotting, how about you?
