Message	the co-worker not only hydroplaned, but says his car is running rough and check engine is coming on. I believe his alternator belt is likely wet, but as he has a cold-air intake and was making miniature tsunamis, it is a distinct possibility that he almost hydrolocked, and might have a little H2O in a cylinder. Point blank, the rains were bad, there was even hail, and it came down very quickly. (Hail is commonplace in many places this time of year, but not SF)
