Message When I go to a machine shop, I go to drop something off, then back to pick it up. In and out. If I go there to check out their work or just to check up on my things, I go there and do just that: none of which is done in the waiting room.

I can't say I've ever taken a car to a place that would keep it for awhile, but again, I would go to check up on the car, not the TV or couch or magazine collection there. BUT, a body shop or shop that you would drop your car off for, I can understand because you are dropping your car off - you might have to wait for a ride. A comfortable space would be much appreciated, no matter how short the wait. A machine shop though? It's not like you're driving up, pulling your head in the parking lot, then leaving the car there: you generally have the piece you need work on in hand.

A nice customer area in the front, I can dig. You want your customers to have a good impression. Display case there, cool. Nice floor, cool. I just don't see the point of a "small" machine shop spending the money on a couch and nice TV right from the start. Writing it off or not, I just think it's a bit superfluous.

An employee area I can understand. But I wouldn't call it a showroom or waiting area.

Dunno, guess I'm more interested in the work performed than watching TV. Oh well.
