People assume since ethanol is also an alcohol, it must have the same corrosion characteristics as methanol... to put it simply, it doesn't. I made the recommendation to hard anodize my fuel rails for E85 use to cover my liability. It wouldn't be much of a stretch for someone to spike their E85 with methanol and I absolutely refuse to be liable for any corrosion issue that might arise from whatever fuel someone decides to use.
