Message more lag than anything else notable.

Greddy TD series turbos are old-school 1960's technology. Their geometries were based on the process of slide-rule successive approximation.

The signigficantly improved efficiencies that are found within modern day turbochargers is not a result of material science or manufacturing techniques, but rather, a direct result of computational processing power. :) In a large part, computers have led to these improvements. Increases in computation speed have allowed software engineers to further refine computational fluid dynamics to a point where significantly less investment is involved in the trial-error process to produce a product with improved performance characteristics.

Going to your orignal question, there is no simple answer. The 16g can make anywhere from ~300RWHP up to around 600RWHP.... and that's just talking about PEAK power - the highest power across the RPM band.... and to make 600RWHP will require so many other modifications to the powertrain to achieve, that once you go there, you wont even considear a TD series turbo..

Which leads me to my point: WHY do you want to use a TD series turbocharger set? They are antiques. They'll be incredibly laggy and produce meager peak power and sub-par torque. TD series turbos are what your grandpa was thinking of buying when he was in his mid-life crisis. You and I have the luxuries of technology, and it is denoted by a beautiful 2-letter acronyn: "GT".

The Garrett GT series turbochargers are top-class designs. Extensive R&D has been put not only into the geometries of the components from which these turbochargers are designed, but within the niche group of enthusiasts that seek desired performance characteristics, we also have available the information for the application of particular configurations of these turbos for use on the Z32.

Want great spool, torque and power for your lightly modded Z32? Get a set of GT2554R's and you'll be pleasantly surprised with a solid 420RWHP, 440RWTQ, and plenty of bottom end for light to light street apps.

Want more top-end for highway or drag apps in your moderately or liberally modded Z32? Get a pair of GT2860RS and lay down over 500RWHP on pumpfuel or 650+ on racefuel - with confidence to blow away 98% of anything on 4 wheels.

OR go ballistic - get a set of GT30's with your fully built setup and lay down anything from 600RWHP to 1000RWHP+ and set a land speed record.

In any case, the one common demoninator here is "GT". TD series turbos aren't going to provide the kind of results that you hear enthusiasts losing their minds over. :)
