| About 2 years ago I took my Z to the dealership to get a new rack put on . As soon as i left the dealership ( first red light ) I pushed the brakes and couldnt hold the steering wheel because of the jerking ( left to right ) . I turned around and went back but it was closing time and everyone but the shop mgr. was gone , luckly he put my Z in the air and we both noticed that the mechanic had not tightened the 4 main 17mm bolts that secure the rack , i was pissed ! The shop mgr was a friend and made it right . Now 2 yrs later due to " TT.NET " <<< That's you guys ! I'm able to work on my own Z . Im in the middle of a build and decided it would be a good time to change the rack bushings since i was in there. Thanks to Bernie's Part and excellent instructions and great communication, it was a piece of cake and unvailed another nissan mechanic screw up . Notice the drivers side bushing , i thought it was fluid soaked and swollen . Turns out it wasnt lined up straight and it was tightened down with the bushing half in and half out of the bracket.

It took about 25 min to complete this and i noticed as i was unbolting the u-joint at the steering rack that i could wiggle the rack , nice right ! After installing the new bushings , no more wiggle " F'n nissan " they'll never touch the Z again !
