First, the price w/o injectors that you listed is a bit high, without the ID injectors, the fuel rail kit retails for $730. E85? That's a good question - the truth is I have not tested my fuel rails for corrosion issues with E85. I'm not exactly interested in trying to sell my product as being E85 compatible and then be held liable for any issues that could arise from its use. Here are some specifications about my kit to help you with your decision:
- The parts that are directly exposed to fuel are the rails and injector nozzles, the rails are made from 6063 T6 aluminum and the injector nozzles are 6061 T6 aluminum - both have been Type II Sulfuric anodized inside and out.
- The o-rings used throughout the kit are all viton.
- The Injector Dynamic injectors are E85 compatible.
There is one TT.net member [1badz32 (MN)] that made his own fuel rails, did not anodize them and claimed to have run E85 through them for two years without a problem. This was two years ago and where he's at now with them, I don't know. Now, I don't recommend doing this, but if true, it's a good indicator of the corrosion characteristics of E85 with aluminum (or lack thereof) that has some people concerned about using it with my fuel rails.
