Message At the turn of the millennium, I was considering a full 3" system (see http://twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/418877/Three-inch-stainless-exhausts-compared-----gtgtgt.html). But the consensus view then was that 3" pipes were "overkill" for anything less than 600 hp, and too loud besides.

The horsepower differences between aftermarket exhaust systems (including HKS, Greddy, B&B, Stillen, Thermal, Brullen, Apexi, and Borla -- size difference notwithstanding) was said to be minimal, with the gains over stock exhaust attributed primarily to mandrel bending.

It was a contentious issue, and got lots of back and forth, including "Greg says..." attributions both ways.

In any case, I don't recall ever seeing the dyno charts that conclusively and quantifiably lay the issue to rest.

Does Specialty Z have dyno charts for that?
