Talked w/ insurance (state farm) today regarding my totaled Z. Their offer in short was $5250 (not including the buy back). After politely disagreeing w/ the guy and telling him you can't find a TT for $5K, he started going off of local comps (mostly craigslist) and a company called "autosource" or something like that. The ONLY thing I found from autosource stuff is that they have tons of rebuilt/salvage vehicles listed across multiple "autosource" sites. The agent has YET to send me these e-mails listing these cars he's found. I guess as of this year they only look at comps w/in 150 milesAnyways... this leads me to my next item.... since I disagreed on price, they're gonna send an independent appraisal agent to my house tomorrow and he's asked for receipts (which I have about 90% of totalling probably $10K or so) I also have pictures from before. What else should I be covering here or is it all outside of my hands? What I've learned so far is that if the car is valued more (due to the upgrades) that also means that more would be asked back for a buyback. any advice is appreciated. Piotr p.s. I'm gonna print info from sources like KBB, Nada, msn.auto, edmunds, and also local TT's from Seattle > spokane & Portland as well.
