Message There shouldn't be any limits as the adjustment should really be done by a qualified tuner on the dyno.

Safety limits are different under different condition.

Here're some typical timing and fuel comps:

For anti-lag:
timing retard 20 deg
Fuel enrich 25-50%

For decel-cut:
timing retard 8-10 deg
Fuel inj. time: 0

For anti-stall:
time advance: 15 deg

The ECU reads the average of the adjacent values from the timing and fuel maps. So a good, tuned map shouldn't have sharp jumps and an isolated sharp jump would likely be ignored by the ECU since the averaging. So there is really no need for limits in the fuel and timing maps except for the comps.
