My rear hatch (96TT) is very HARD to open 99% of the time because the rubber bumper/grommets seem to stick onto the frame of the trunk. Is this common? I didn't consider it an issue until a couple of days ago when one of the grommets actually came off the tailgate and stayed stuck onto the frame of the trunk - that's how much pressure there is at my interface. I've sprayed oil at the interface and that works for just a couple of trunk openings then it goes back to being HARD. I just ordered two new grommets - hope that'll "fix" it. Is this a common thing? BTW, I thought the grommets were height adjustable like the hood's - they're not.
