Message So the response I am expecting is why FedEx and not USPS? From years of experience I could write a book on this, but with Z Nationals a week away I don't have time right now, so I'll give you the summary.

There are obvious reasons like the fact that there is either no tracking, or the useless tracking numbers they sell you, undependable delivery times, and many times more likely to be lost or damaged. Their web integration is years behind FedEx and built by someone who prides themselves in the opposite of what we consider logic. If you try to make shipments using their website they consistently fail and tell you there has been an "unknown error". It takes us several times longer to process any sort of USPS shipment than it does FedEx. In general it is a complacent government run union controlled organization.

However the problems are even bigger than that. We do in fact offer the option to send some items via USPS first class mail. We make attempts to inform customers of the potential wait times and problems of using this method and encourage them to pay the $10-$15 for FedEx to avoid any issues. When an order is shipped via USPS, too often customers calls in a week or two later and ask us where there order is. We remind them that they selected to have it delivered USPS. We often have no way of tracking or knowing where it is and we have to wait 21 days before USPS will even talk to you about it. At that point the customer is upset with us and often wants us to send out replacements. We are upset because we are asked to do this, when we didn't want to ship it USPS to begin with. The customer can even file a CC chargeback and win, in which case we are out parts, money, fees, and time. Of course this doesn't happen every time, but we probably deal with it once every 1-2 weeks. When the inevitable USPS screw up happens it causes an enormous amount of stress and waste of time. It simply isn't worth it to us.

I can see no logical reason that you would say that you are not going to purchase from us because of any of this. We obviously aren't trying to gouge you. We don't like the fact that the only reliable shipping option costs $10 + any more than you do. I would agree that it is ridiculous to pay that much to ship some screws. Our policies are born from experience and rooted in all of our best interests. We state what the shipping is going to cost to get it to you reliably so that we know you'll be happy and we minimize the chances of a backlash that is out of our control. You can make the decision whether to pay for that or not. No need to get angry at us about it.

Say you were in the market for some turbos, but you thought it was ridiculous to pay us for Garrett turbos when Chinese turbos are out there for $200. Would you be upset at us because we refused to sell you the Chinese turbos and only offering you the Garrett option?

The Chinese turbo might work out. You might get your shipment intact in a timely manner via USPS. If you buy the Garrett turbo it's going to be work properly and last and if we send your package FedEx you are going to be able to follow it to your door where it will arrive on time.
