I'll probably go in tomorrow, pay them for the part they ordered, and walk out the door with it, never to return. My take is summed up in one word - Liability. They don't want to admit they made a mistake 'cause then I could follow up with other possibilities (warped rotor) and they just want a high-maintenance owner out of their shop.
