Message Businesses are in business to make money and not necessarily to do the right or moral thing. The amount of expenses a business has to contend with is daunting so every car has to yield a reasonable profit. As with any relationship there is give and take. You give them your money and they take care of your car. No money, no care, its that simple. This is why so many guys work on their own cars.

I learned my lesson when I bought my first new car in 2000, My father said stop working on your old 1989 bmw and focus on growing your business. So I decided on a new car. It was a short wheel base Audi A8 and after I plunked down $62,000 I thought I'd be good to go and problem free for a few years. Problem after problem... I got no respect and bad loaner cars while I waited for back ordered parts. Most of the time my car would come back with the same problem it went in with and some times it came out of the shop with a scratch, stain or chip it didn't go in with. So the service rep suggested me a 195$ detail service and said my car would look like new. ummm...it was new. I complained and I think you know the rest of the story. I eventually found out warranty work doesn't pay well.

Fast forward to 2010...I'll be changing the upper radiator hose and clutch fan on my "newer" old BMW tomorrow during lunch. Total cost 63$ with shipping at Rockauto.com and I know it'll be done right.
