Message 1. everyone already told you about the tranny, and $4k is about right.

Its $3200 with the AWD transfer case and the front differential. Usually what breaks is transfer case - thats $ 1500 at the dealer - can be bought for less. BTW things break when you dump the clutch at 5000 rpm. What can i say.

2. launch? we tried to launch a VR4 by revving it up all the way and dropping the clutch. it bogged, then slowly got going. need to feather it out like a Z.

Obviously you don't know how to drive AWD . I know people cutting 1.6 sec 60 ft times on street tires with AWD. Get your Z to do that. (My best on the Z was a 1.81)

3. oil leaks! big time on the front seals, poorly made.

Same with a Z bro - ALL Z's need atleast the rear main seal by 60 k miles and usually the cam seals - so whats the difference.

4. gadgets out the ass that break. nice when they work though.

Like what ? the active aero spoiler ? Fine - just disable that anyway - you don't need it

5. back seats are worthless unless you have no legs at all

True - i agree there - but the worthless rear seats save you come insurance time.

6. way too heavy, and you can tell when you drive it, especially after driving a Z. try them both and see for yourself.

The diff between a TT z and a 3K gt is about 250 lbs and yes i agree the Z feels much better

7. if you mod, you're definately breaking the tranny.
Not absolutely true - it depends on the driver

8. unlike the detuned race cars like the supra or Z, the VR4 is made on a Galante chassis and uses the Diamante engine with turbos added (more to it, of course, but that's the platform)

Detuned racecars - lol - ok if you insist. Btw the galant chassis won the WRC for your kind information. The 3000 GT engine is strong enough internally and it rarely breaks.

9. and one of the worse things about them...there are like a thousand basic 3000GTs and SLs that LOOK like a VR4 to most people. might as well get a camaro

Ohhh i admit the Z looks better than the 3000GT - i agree completely however what you are saying does not hold water because there are thousands of NA Z's that look like twin turbo Z's out there too. So based on what you are saying might as well get a camaro :)

Thanks

Harry
