That is my current stereo in the Bimmer and I really like it. It has a SD card slot behind the faceplate for mp3's/wma's. It has a USB connection on the front for a thumb drive or external hard drive or a limited type of mp3 player. With a ipod control box hooked up it'll take care of ipods. The built in EQ is nice and simple, yet powerful. You can control when the bass cuts off from the regular speakers to your sub-woofer(s). Unfortunately it is discontinued but can still be found new on ebay. The screen is very bright in direct sunlight (something I never find Alpine to be good at). It also has controls for how much power it outputs to the speakers incase you're using it on amplified speakers (like our bose). This way you don't turn the stereo just slightly up and have it majorly loud and distorted.
Overall it's a extremely good HU and can be had for ~130 bucks.
