I was driving back from my parents' house in Syracuse, NY to my house in Newton, NJ (~235 miles). It was fairly late at night. Come to think of it, I am fairly certain it was the return trip from ZCON that year. The downpipe on the Miata snapped clean in 2 pieces about 50 miles from my parents', melting the throttle cable, speedo cable (the metal cable inside melted and bonded to the inside metal sleeve and ended up causing my speedo gear on the trans to strip...which was a pleasant surprise once I put the car back together), heater core hoses, and a bunch of other crap. Obviously I was ass-out. I called Chivas just to ask if he could find me the coordinates of where I was so I could call a tow truck. He went WAY above and beyond - he drove all the way up from Ft. Lee, NJ (far...trust me) to bring me back to my place. I want to say he even used his AAA, which is why he drove all the way up to me. Had I not been a member here, I would have never met Dan, and I would have been 100% screwed that night. I was broke as could be at the time, and that towing bill would have hurt. Sucks that I moved to Syracuse about a month after that. lol
The Z only had one issue that I thought would leave me stranded once, but I was prepared for it on the trip down to southern NJ. Never became a problem though, and I never even had to do anything about it.
