I always got nervous using closed-ended lugs on extended studs: for all you know you bottom out in the lug before it's fully seated. Yes, that's hard to do if you pay attention, but some dumb ass kid did it in a shop I used to work at. Torque wrench clicked, wheels felt tight, customer came back about 3 minutes later because the car was wobbling all over the place. Needless to say we never let that kid touch aftermarket studs again, let alone wheels. I'm not a fan of how open-ended lugs look, but once I get rid of the lazy I have, I am ordering a set to replace the closed ones I got with my wheels 7 years ago.
