Message OK, the TP scale values that run across the top of the fuel map where the stock value on the far right ends in 58 (hex) or 88 decimal, is the Theoretical Pulse width (TP). TP is a calculated value of preset engine load points and provides the information on how the injector pulse should function (deliver fuel) at a given RPM and engine load. The air fuel mix is determined and set across this intersection of RPM and TP voltage and is hard coded (all the cells that make up the 16x16 map). The TP values are derived by using a scale of voltages supplied by the MAF in combination with the VQ table voltages. These are predetermined and hard coded to give you a TP scale. The higher the TP means there will be more engine load in this area but the actual engine load will depend on the resistance the car is encountering on the street so once momentum in speed ahs been obtained the load becomes less and the map balances back on it's own however slight that may be.

This is another reason that trying to tune the extended high gear maps for more power is basically fruitless. The maps are there (a fill-in per say) but not essential to the operating condition because of what has already be able to be obtained at the levels (rmp,TP) you are maxed out with.
