Message	but without the advice of an attorney, you might not have a case and in that situation you will be wasting your time in court. Get any and all documentation that you can find on your car. Motor value, car value, receipts etc. that way if it does come down to 50/50 split you can prove to the court the value of the engine vs the value of the car are not equal. Most attorneys should provide free consultation. Make an appointment if you need to. You may be able to sue for damages also if the car was your daily transportation and has caused you a hardship.
