Message IE cutting away the non esential parts of the MAF housing and inserting the element into a hole in somewhere else along the intake tract. The reasoning would be to get the filters riding higher under the nose pane, the complications would be having to match the ID of the original MAF housing and/or recalibrate the signal. It would also have to be located in a minimum length of straight tubing.

Any thoughts on this? it would probably be easier to just use a similar MAF from a different vehicle with a shorter housing and correct the output voltage

It's probably not worth the effort, but for the sake of discussion, pls tell me what you think.
