Just don't let them anywhere near the inside of your garage or house. At least not until you get a better feel for them (if that ever happens). My wife and I lived in a ghetto fabulous area for a few years - surrounded by thugs and theives...you know, guys who sat in the middle of the street in a lawn chair with a 40 of their favorite adult beverage. One year I even bought a rediculous amount of illegal fireworks and set them off in the middle of the street - sharing them with the entire block. I ended up helping many of them out with their own problems/challenges. Everyone elses house/garage got broken into except mine...and I parked my Z outside in the driveway the entire time. As much as it pained me to do so, I always chatted it up with the neighbors and be-friended the individuals I was uncomfortable with...making it seem like I was never "better" than they were. I made sure I knew more about my block than anyone else. My wife would get mad when I spent time talking with punks, but I always told her it was a matter of safety and security. In the end, I think we were never victimized because I was the nicest guy on the block. Now we live in a nice house in a gated community - our own little Mayberry. 2 years has gone by and I hardly know anyone - neighbors are mostly snobby rich folks...in a sick way, I kind of miss the old hood. The ghetto people I came to know were some of the most down to earth folks I've ever met. To this day, I wonder how many of them had a hand in our safety during our time there.
