| If you missed part 1, here it is It's hard to believe I haven't been able to touch this since February, but I'm finally back to working on it again. This time it's the compressor housing and finding a way to get the pressure outlet to run parallel to the frame rail. Due to the manifold taking up so much space up above, there's no way to route the outlet as it was originally (I never wanted to route it that way anyway). So, I used some 2" sch 40 6061 aluminum weld els to make a nice transition and get the outlet going in the proper direction. I welded little buttons onto each section to allow using wire ties to hold it together while spot welding - they'll easily grind off when all is welded 100%. I had to pie-cut the first section attached to the housing to make it match the oval shape coming out of the compressor. Then I ported each section as I attached them with the goal being to achieve a gradual increase in cross sectional area until it reached the 2.250" OD hose nipple. I'll be stepping up the tube size to 2.375" then 2.500" before it gets to the intercooler. The plan is to knock the entire piece off the compressor for easier welding, there's just enough room right at the housing to get the TIG torch in for the final weld. Next installment... the external wastegate
