OK, here's the background: Dec 29, 2000 - My Z was in an accident, mainly suspension work with some body work to be done. $7000 worth of damage, but it was and is repairable. The frame was not bent. It's now JUNE 28th and I STILL don't have me car back from the shop. I have bought EVERY part for the car, much cheaper through Coz and Courtesy than the local Nissan dealer where the shop would have got them through. By the way it's not insurance fraud (as some might think), here in NY the insurance company cuts you a check and you can do whatever you want with it. You can keep it and sell the car if you want, you just have to notify the company what you did with the money. I speak to the guy about 4 times a week and it's ALWAYS, "the end of the week". And when the end of the week rolls around it's "next week". Now I have had to pay insurance on the car for the past SIX months, I had to get the car registered because I thought it would have been done by the time the plates expired and I've had to rent cars for travel (I've kept the receipts). Now I know someone who works in the shop part time and they told me tonight that there is "NO WAY in hell your car will be done by Friday, probably not even NEXT friday". I'm getting sick of this, all the while other cars come and go with work being done on them. Is there anything I can do?? And yes I thought about getting the car back from him, but he's always had it either up on the lift without the suspension parts on or he'll have the rocker panel and quarter-panel off and what not. Is there any sort of legal action I can take against hime? Thanks and I apologize if it sounds incoherent, but I'm just SOOOOO PISSED right now.
