No not really. On some situations manufactures leave dimensions smaller for the machinist so he has to check what he's doing and make the right changes to enable the part to be within specification to what he wants to run it at. Most come in on point with what they manufacture states is on the box but you ALWAYS check housing bore on rods before you even think about checking oil clearances. Run out and so forth is a huge mistake to not pick up and will cost you dearly sooner than later.
