The track was just amazing! The Z was handling great and I was really happy with my general setup. I was not sure what to expect from my brakes at first, but by the 2nd session they were doing great, although still I was not fully aware of its limits.. Since we had installed fresh race pads the same morning, the first session out I had noticed brake fade near the end of the session, but I quickly realized this was due to the bedding/scorching of the pads as this totally changed the following sessions.Big 2nd on the HT-10's ...I would have had the worst day without them. The following pics are taken the day after with slight rain... HT-10 FTW
I thought it was hilarious how the Greenstuff Pads I had in the rear were turned to white ash LOL
And again, this is why cross-drilled rotors are not the greatest idea. The rear rotor:
Oh, and I think I need to upgrade my lubrication system considering my Z got rod knock and had to end the last session early. I was really pushing the car hard after passing everyone and having a clear field, so must have suffered oil starvation around a turn at high rpm. I may try to change the rod bearings to get around for now until I get my spare motor rebuilt. I would give a nice detailed writeup for the day, but I am just way to burnt out from the awesomeness of the track day. :)
