Although *technically the absolute lightest possible multi-viscosity should be best, I disagree. (By lowest multi, I mean the 1st # *0W-30/40W)Although the lower # means that when the engine is cold it's easiest to move/flow, I hear a difference. The last owner ran 15-50 Mobil exclusively. I switched it to 5-30 a week after I bought it. When I bought the car I didn't hear even the SLIGHTEST tick. Now that I'm @ 5-30 as soon as idle comes down from start (1-2 mins), I hear light lifter ticking. When it is time to change oil again I'll go to 10-40 and see if it disappears.
