People are giving you the best advice they have. I'll point out that your initial post shows that you are fully expecting the anti-Maaco reaction you got. So in some way you can't really complain that you got it. I think the most important theme of responses is that the more you set up Maaco for success, the better off you are. Remove all trim you can remove (de-chroming it used to be called) yourself. Remove more stuff in the parking lot, like the license plates, when you get to Maaco. Much of the work of a paint job is in the prep work, and this is exactly what you are not paying Maaco to do. So do as much prep work as you can by yourself, and let Maaco shoot the paint and ask as little extra of them as you can. Even if they are a great crew, doing it this way gives them even more time to focus on finer details of your car. Good luck man. Let us know how it goes.
