Message ...and if my answering the objections is seen as argumentative or unappreciative, then that's not my intention.

I have a lot of good reasons for wanting to do things this way... and I may very well regret the decision. But I really think that my 'not taking the advice of people who know better' is about on the same level as those who are telling me 'it's going to be awful' when they know *nothing* about the shop doing the work except for the name on the sign outside.

This particular Maaco has an A+ rating from the local BBB, member since 1998, with ZERO complaints in the last three years (their normal review period). Here's the link:

I'm just a little amazed that an entire group of people are quick to tell me this is going to be a disaster when all the evidence about THIS particular shop says the opposite, with no responder on this site having actually been a patron and suffered a specific complaint. I guess it means that we're either (a) not complainers here in Corpus, (b) nobody who cares about their cars actually goes there, or (c) maybe... just MAYBE... they do pretty good work...

I'm possibly coming around on the 'don't change the color' mentality - I may leave it as is, but to be damned because of the sign out front is pretty harsh...

People should remember, though, that a suggestion is just that - a suggestion. It's then up to me to decide to use it or not. There are a lot of people out there who offer an opinion, and then get offended when you don't immediately adopt it - never understood that. I posted the 'perspective' message to give folks more of an idea as to why I had made the decision I had. I wasn't someone who was looking for ANY idea - I'd already thought about the ramifications before I posted. I wanted a BETTER idea than what I already had.
