:You saw the comments here mostly against Maaco and for good reasons. But you have to go with Maaco, make sure you look at their painted cars in the lot. Take off all the trims. Remove the lights, mirrors and bumpers in their parking lot if you can. :Lastly, if you choose the single stage urethane, you won't be able to really sand it afterward to fix the imperfection. So you should wait until you save enough money to get their 2 stage urethane. :If you don't learn from others experience, you will end up regretting from your own.------------------------------------------ oops on the mispost... :-) Yes, I read all the negative comments and I have to say I'm surprised. I expected some negativity - Maaco is like cafeteria food: It's just *expected* that everybody is going to complain about it... but they're still in business. I would not even *consider* a Maaco option if I had just driven it, brand new, off the lot and an accident prompted a repaint. Why? because then, we WOULD be talking about a paintjob that could potentially lower the value of the car. But c'mon guys, 'Z's' in our eyes notwithstanding, we are talking about a FOUR THOUSAND DOLLAR CAR. Trying to justify a $2000+ paint job for a car only worth twice that amount... is NUTS. A purist will cuss a Kicker subwoofer over a JL Audio. A Ford guy will call a Chevy a 'POS'. Some Z guys would rather WALK than drive a Supra. See what I'm getting at? Hyperbole. This paint job will not be perfect - I'd be damned surprised if it had no faults that aren't visible from 1-2 feet. But I DO know that from 5-10 feet away, it will look a HELL of a lot better than it does right now... and that's all I'm after. As I said before, by the time *I'M* ready to let go of this car, the paint job will be the least of its worries.
