Message They are new turbos with a larger housing. It helps a lot with keeping the heat down in there....we all know our car's run hot as hell anyway. The smaller stock housings, even when ported create and harbor tons of heat. With the larger housing it allows some of that heat to disippate, the housing isn't so large that it creats a lot of lag though. I think they are the middle of the road turbo, good quality and good output for a modest price.

Sure, there are better turbos out there but for the money I feel they are one of the best. They aren't going to spool like stock, but no aftermarket turbo will....it'll be darn close with the right mods though. They also aren't going to run with TD-05's or HKS2835's ,but that's not what they were designed to do.....there big brother 650 is more in their league.

In my opinion for the price though , they offer the best of everything. They are affordable, spool relatively early for a larger turbo, they are new and not remans and they produce a fair amount of power(475-500 rwhp is possible).

As far as the cams....I don't think they are neccessary for these turbos...when I spoke with Jim he agreed....they wouldn't produce a larger enough gain to warrant the expense ( cams aren't that expensive, but factor in the new lifters ($700ish) ,springs, retainers etc....ti start's adding up. If I was going witha larger turbo I could justify it but not with these, Jim agreed.

I'm going with them...once the engine is back from the builder and is back in the car. I'll break it in
and then wideband dyno tune it witht he AFC and let you guys know what she puts down :)

: jamiezx's website about turbos, it looked like the cams would be a good upgrade with the sport 600's. It's kinda funny that everyone is coming to the same conclusion though, after all the trouble with rebuilt turbos that everyone has had. I hope that JWT turbos are as bullet-proof as I have been led to believe.
