| You do realize the shape adds strength no matter what the "tensile strength" is don't you? The sheet metal you can put a knife through will add considerable strength to the roof supports no matter what you can or can't see. Your shade tree mechanic statement is just that also. Your comparing a door Hinged vertically on the car to a T-top that is Latched horizontally. The longer door will also see more angle than the shorter T-top. Another point missed is there is a permanent fixed roof line above the doors compared to the 1 1/2" stubs that fix the t-top roof together on T-top models.
