Subject	opinions on repaint without pulling engine

Message	im considering a repaint of my z, but i dont really want to pull my engine, the issue is that i plan on going from a pearl white to something in the range of a black, or a dark blue or something like that (none the less, a dark colour) this would normally mean that the engine bay should be painted, has anyone successfully done a paint job where they changed the colour and painted most of the engine bay without pulling the engine? the main issue i guess would be painting the visible parts of the firewall.
