Message	with a low bid. They were probably made in Japan at the time but nowadays who knows maybe France since they own some of the company. Does the 55Y filter state "made in ----" Maybe WIX make some since they sure make a lot of filters for other companies. As far as brands you can't go wrong with WIX or Purolater and some others.
