Message A converted TT, a factory TT and an NA auto. The back straight was 3/4 miles long. Before the back straight, there was a huge decreasing radius right hander. At the end of the back straight there was a dip, a left hand 45degree turn and a tricky double apex right which put you on the front straight.

This was a small track, but it was fast. On this particular track with the stock turbos (both cars were in the 400hp range), I believe the 4.08 gear was faster. I could hit over 130 on the back straight compared to 124-125mph with the 3.69 diff.

HOWEVER, I believe the biggest difference on this particular track was the NA steering ratios. The factory TT car had the HICAS eliminated. Lock to lock, the NA steering ratios locked out faster,m and thats where it felt like (IMHO) the difference was. Faster through the curves, carry more speed for the straights. I may be wrong, but thats what I felt. I carried more speed through the turns before the back straight, and hence hit a higher speed on this particular track.

Anyway, may i reccommend that before you buy a new subframe, go to your track and get a consistant fast lap with your 4.08 setup. Then buy a TT diff.

Or, if you have plans for a 500 hp setup in the future, go ahead and get the 3.69 gear setup.

Measure twice. Cut once.
