Message It means "free" to you. I wonder if you could collect the car based on the quote and the money you've paid him. If you actually give him more money, it can be construed as your admitting that you should give it to him. It seems you could find a lawyer who'd do it for expenses, then wait until you win to get the gist of his money, if he is that sure you'll win. You should be able to include legal fees in your suit. Document your attempts to remedy the situation and collect before going to court. Did you consider smalls claims court? Do you have a written quote?
