Message story starts with me wrecking the z last summer on june 1st, took my car to the body shop were they said that they could fix it. they sat on the car for a month (now july 1st) without even touching it, i asked them what the hold up was and the body shop owner said that he didn't have the funds to get started on the car. i asked what the estimate was and he told me approximately $4,000, i gave hime $3,000 in cash before even starting on the car (most people don't pay money till the job is done). told him i wanted the car done by end of august at the very latest and he told me that this wouldn't be a problem. i left for military training and came back and he had started on the body work. i then proceeded to ask him why he wasn't fixing the frame/subframe and suspension first. he re assured me that everything would be fine and that he wanted to get the body done. end of august comes and still the body work isn't done and not to mention the rest of the car. i go back everyweek and he's working on my car very slowly, and tells me every week that the car will be done the following week. this goes on and on till january 1st, i finally have enough of his bullshit and tell him that i better have my car done and driving down the road by end of febuary and he tells me no problem. Now all the body work is done, car is painted and put back together and looks absolutely ridiculously amazing......but he tells me that the rear subframe is to bent out of shape and he will need to put in a new one for the cost of an additional cost. i'm pissed and tell him that he should have fixed the frame to begin with before doing the body work. i tell him to just tell me what i owe him for just the body work and he says an additional $3,000 and this doesn't even include the cost of getting a rear subframe and putting it in. so if i pay him the $3000 grand i'll be into my car $6,000 and it won't even be driveable, to get it down the road and all i'll have to pay a total of $7,500...that's $3,500 more than the original quote not to mention 9 months later. please any help will do. i've called lawyers and they all said that i would win without a doubt, but however that i'll probably be more into the court and lawyer fees than i would have been if i just would have paid the total body shop fee's. this has pissed me off to no end.....that i might get screwed and nothing i can do about it.....does anyone know if there might be any other avenues of approach to this or if anyone knows of a good lawyer that work pro bono(gets paid after winning the case). it would all help, thanks for reading this long ass post..
