Considering I know it's a good Engineering school (when I wanted to do Electronics Engineering, I was torn between Purdue and U of I, Urbana/Champaign), I figured it'd be a great Math school as well. I may have to look further into that. I've driven through Lafayette only once (at night during a snowstorm, no joke)... how is it in terms of civilization? I did my Master's at Western Illinois University, where Walmart is happening and the closest Best Buy (or anything) is 45 minutes east or south, and I don't want that again. Lafayette is pretty established, right?
