| they were strong enough...? Sorry, but the concept of a stronger rod bolt is not so that it will not break during an unrelated catastrophic engine failure. The idea is to have enough fastener preload to counteract the stresses that it will be subjected to at higher RPM, and those stresses increase by the square of RPM. Again, I will redirect that the subject was 1000+HP connecting rods. And there seems to be this notion that extending the RPM range is not going to play a role in doing this.
