| It was done, engine was started and ran beautifully, but the core plugs/freeze plugs started leaking. The ones around the engine were not leaking much but the ones down the middle of the engine were accumulating and leaking down the back of the engine between the engine and the transmission. Nonetheless, the leak was significant and I ended up pulling the engine out to change out all the plugs. After removing the engine, and disassembling I think the culprit was the combination of the plugs and the metal coolant pipe that goes down the middle of the engine to the back. I will never find out 100% about the metal pipe since it is in two sections and I had to disconnect the pieces to be able to remove the thing. Anyways, originally I was going to install them with some silicon RTV around the core plugs, but I read that they are just press fit and no sealant is needed so I simply installed them without any sealant. Lesson learned, this time around I used sealant.
Buy Zama Posters Here I have nightmares about that happening...I'd be the poor bastard you'd hear about on the news that gets killed by a softball-size chunk while spreading out my body over the hood and screaming "Nooo!"
