As far as HICAS help, I WILL go so far as to say that in years past HICAS has helped me avoid a crash on the street. On the track where you are trying to drive at 9 and 10/10ths, my experience was opposite. It was also opposite of the technical explanation above. Both myself and a Professional driver could easily notice the HICAS effect. Not sure if my HICAS was functioning correctly or not at the time. But in a High speed carousel you could feel the HICAS cycling in and out making the car feel unstable and / or unplanted. On the track you tend to me more focused, better prepared, and in a controlled environment (to some extent). For this reason, I think a track car is better without it. However on the street is a different situation in my opinion. On the street at times you have to react to an unexpected situation in less than ideal conditions. It is this example where I felt HICAS helped me avoid an accident. My 0.02 cents.
