cold start up, smooth idles, stop and go...since a track car is not likely to race in too hot or too cold condition and will only race when engine is in operating temperature. A street car needs to account for all these conditions. So the correction maps for fuel and timing will need to be programmed. I don't know how this map-ecu thing works. Maybe it fools the stock ECU like the piggy-back systems do. But if you run a standalone with the map sensor, you now have to manually program for all those factors. That takes alot of time and money (dyno time).
