did you paint the plastic backings where you can see the metallic grey paint to silver? The j-spec tails look hot, and it wouldn't be hard to make the OEM look like them. I just did my center panel and I painted the 300ZX in red, so it looks like a jspec, not to mention it also lights up red at night. I Am going to do the rest pretty soon, I'll post pics soon. : Today was the day for me to clear out my rear taillights, I was very sceptical at first but I took the chance and went for it, Everything from taking the tails out from behind the car went pretty fine. Now this is where most of my time went: Heating up the tailight assembly so I could seperate the lens and the housing. I was very careful through this procedure not letting it heat up 350F for more than 10 minutes at a time. Prying out the plastic lens from the housing, I would say, was the most PITA task I had to do for my Z. Not only was I sticky all over from the evil goo, but the damn thing was pretty much impossible to seperate. After 3 hours and me almost skipping lunch, I finally cut out my own clear lenses from home depot (Lucite Acrylic Difusser) with a solder, which took at least 10 min to one lens. From there I tried fitting it in and pushing in place, which then I cracked the clear lense from within the housing. Another hour went by then I finally got one to fit and finished with the first after reheating and using my Kung-Fu grip to squeeze back the 2 pieces. One thing that really made my day was that it was raining out of all days here during summer, in CA! I quickly grabbed the hairdyer, nplugged of course, and covered the hollow slots with towels. I was pissed off and at the same time sad, whatever that is. I became happy again when I did the second lens(7 hours later) which I did everything about four times faster and after cleaning up with the help of my friends: WD-40, and Cloth towel. I was suprised to see what I had done all by myself and couldn't get the phat grin off my face :) Sorry for the tremendously long story but I wanted to share it with you guys, just in case you want to go to hell and back, hehe...J/K
: BTW, the results were very nice, especially for a measly $6 bucks for the sheet of clear lens and hard work..hehe at least for skinny guy like me. I will try to get some pics A.S.A.P, thanks everyone who helped me out with my questions today, I depended on them :) : Lates, : Ben Nguyen A.K.A Ninjamonkey
