HKS has three different wastegates, Standard, Racing and GT. Standard is the smallest one but supports upto 500hp. It has a 40mm exhaust path. If you can take off the WG, measure the inner diameter to verify. Also the Standard has a parallelagram flange, Racing has a square flange, GT is round. Anyway, it's big enough for a 2540 turbo. Plus, if the wastegate is too small for a turbo (meaning the valve is too small to let out all the exhaust), it doesn't let out the pressure. The boost will shoot straight up. It's probably your HKS BOV. Try tighten the spring. God answers prayers!
