I felt the wall will hold the thing in place. I just need something to prevent the legs from getting kicked out from them. Once it was all said and done, the 100 or so pounds of weight should help. The wood blocks finger tenon-ed together should help prevent any unwanted movement. I hear what your saying, just not willing to pay the price to go that nuts. This was supposed to be a cheap build, and at about $100.oo total (including hardware, hinges, gate locks etc), I think I succeeded. Now I need to replace the stain splattered wainscoting.
