Message If they took the car off of the market only because of your interest, then something is not right. Did you give them a deposit? Were you the buyer from the Ebay auction?

Asking for people's opinions and help without disclosing the details makes it difficult to get good advice.

If they took down their auctions and advertisements without some form of agreement or deposit from you, I think you will end up paying more than this car is worth. I envision the seller thinking "Alright! I never thought we would get asking price for this car, but this guy is hooked. He's going to fly out here ready to buy, easy pickings!

Don't sweat it, I've paid too much for cars and other things. Live and learn!

Don't let emotions take over in your decision! This is NOT going to be the only 94-95 Z you find.

You want to modify yourself, why pay top dollar for a car that you want to replace parts on? I had that issue with my last Z. Bought it with 68k miles, and besides the clutch, everything worked! I couldn't convince myself (or my wife) that spending money to replace ("upgrade") working parts.

Also, the price you may end up paying for this one, including travel and shipping, is very close to the price range for a lower mileage Z.

Do they salt the roads where you live? Will you be driving your Z in the winter?

Is this going to be your primary vehicle? If you have a beater and are mechanically inclined (or have friends that are) then you could get a great deal on a Z that needs some TLC.
