I hope you have some experience driving a high powered rear wheel drive car. The Z is especially light in the rear and it will come around on you quick. I bought my first NA at 16. My budget allowed me to chose between a clean low mileage NA or a beat up TT. I chose the NA for maintenance costs and just the overall condition compared to the TT's in my price range. My dad was also weary of buying a TT for my first car as he had driven them before and ridden motorcycles with me for years and knew my riding style. Wasn't thrilled at that decision at the time but I was just happy to get into a Z. In hindsight it was the best decision I could have made. Just don't throw your money away on mods for the NA. Get a pop charger, U/D pulley, short shifter, sway bars and replace the shocks and springs if necessary and enjoy it for what it is. It still has enough power to have fun with and handles very well. It will also get you used to staying calm and not over correcting when the rear end comes around on you. I got my TT at 21 and all I can say is I definitely would have wrecked it if I had it at 16. I know you are a little older but it's still your first car and I'm sure you still have a lot to learn. No matter how much experience you have there is always more to learn but I truly believe it's just too much for someones first car.
